A St. Thomas company is the recipient of more than $1.3 million in provincial funding to assist in its plant expansion and add new operating equipment.
Takumi Stamping Canada Inc is investing nearly $9 million in the project which will help create 65 new jobs.
The automotive parts manufacturer ships about 500,000 parts per day from its Dennis Road facility, which opened in 2008, expanded in 2011 and employs around 300 people.
Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Rob Flack noted, “New and good-paying jobs created by local manufacturers is always great news for our region of Ontario.”
Vic Fedeli, Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade added, “Our government is proud to support local manufacturers as they look to expand their operations and create more jobs.”
The funding is through the province’s Regional Development Program.
