An enhanced offer by the federal government and a weekend of bargaining has resulted in a tentative contract agreement for most striking workers represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
PSAC issued a release at 1:30 a.m. Monday that it had reached a four-year agreement covering four of its bargaining units for 120-thousand public servants at the Treasury Board.
It says the pact includes wage increases totaling 12.6 per cent when compounded over the life of the deal, as well as significant new protections around remote work.
Union president Chris Aylward says his members got a fair contract that keeps up with the cost of living, increases protections around remote work and creates safer, more inclusive workplaces.
But a deal has not been reached yet for 35-thousand workers with the Canada Revenue Agency and a 13th day of strike action continued.
