The 39-year-old St. Thomas man charged with attempted murder in a case of domestic violence earlier this month at a 341 Talbot Street apartment now faces an additional charge.
St. Thomas Police advise James Brown was in court Wednesday morning and charged with killing an animal.
As police conducted their investigation into the May 16th shooting of Brown’s 24-year-old female partner, the body of a dog was found in the apartment.
Through consultation with Forensic Veterinarian Services, it was determined the dog had been shot.
The female was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.
Brown remains in custody.
