Thanks to the support of St. Thomas and Elgin County residents, the Cob’s Bread Community Day Fundraiser was a huge success! With all sales from the entire day on June 7th being donated back to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital, the community came out in full force, with 675 customers walking through the door that day.
And that amounted to $8,389 in sales, something owner Alicia Ryckman still can’t believe.
As Ryckman mentioned, Cob’s had a goal of raising $5,000, and that quickly went out the window thanks to the incredible community support.
It also wasn’t just STEGH who benefited from the day explains Ryckman, as many of those who stopped in left with a little something extra.
And while Cob’s Bread donates any unsold products from the day, therefore giving back to local agencies 7 days a week, Ryckman hopes to plan another large community fundraiser in the near future.
Ryckman once again thanks the community and her dedicated staff at Cob’s Bread for such a successful fundraiser.
Tonya Sheldon, STEGH Vice President/CFO and Interim Foundation Executive Director joined Ryckman and her team last week to accept the heartfelt donation.
