A 36-year-old St. Thomas man assaulted St. Thomas Police officers after being caught breaking into a shed Thursday night.
Around 11:45 p.m. police responded to a break and enter in progress at a Wellington Street residence.
The suspect left the area, but was quickly located and identified as Dillon Churchill. He was taken to police headquarters where he assaulted two officers.
Churchill was still in custody Friday morning awaiting a court appearance.
The two officers suffered minor injuries.
Churchill has been charged with:
- 1 count of fail to comply with release order
- 1 count trespass at night
- 2 counts assault a peace officer
