The St. Thomas Fire Department are helping residents beat the heat with their “Hot Summer Nights” pop-up events.
This July and August, our local fire department will choose a Park or Parkette throughout St. Thomas and show up to spray the crowd of people looking to cool off as Chief Fire Prevention Officer Kim Destun explains.
They’ll take place 2 times per month, with dates and locations posted to the St. Thomas Fire Department Facebook page the morning of the event notes Destun.
During each pop-up, members of the fire department will also be on hand to share important fire safety tips and answer any questions residents may have.
With the number of fatal fires on the rise across the province, Destun adds how important it is to drive home fire safety reminders.
The “Hot Summer Nights” events are free and open to those young and old, so don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy a splash of excitement with our local heroes.
