It’s free fishing week across Ontario and the Kettle Creek Conservation Authority is giving residents a reason to get out and enjoy the great outdoors.
Their Tall Tales Fishing Derby is back, taking place this Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon at Lake Whittaker Conservation Area.
It’s open to all skill levels, with prizes ranging from fishing gear to food vouchers and passes to local attractions. Prizes will be awarded to the longest and heaviest catches of the day.
Pre-registration can be done at the Lake Whittaker Gate House or beginning at 7 a.m. the day of the derby at the day use beach. A registration fee of $ 10 for those 18 and over and $5 for those 3 to 18 will apply.
