St. Thomas Police Chief Marc Roskamp has a message for motorists who insist on drinking and driving. Don’t do it.
The warning comes on the heels of Tuesday’s tragic incident in which 11-year-old Aiden Curtis was struck and killed by a 19-year-old impaired driver.
A senseless tragedy, stresses Roskamp, who adds impaired driving-related collisions are preventable.
He points out impaired driving offences in the city increased by almost 20 per cent in 2022.
He makes it clear city police will continue to arrest, charge and advocate for strong sentences for those who continue to drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
