Ontario Parks is encouraging all residents this August to enjoy the benefits of the great outdoors with their 30×30 Nature Challenge.
All you need to do to participate is spend 30 minutes in nature each day for the entire month of August.
But wait, August has 31 days doesn’t it?
Yes – take the opportunity to challenge yourself to one more day in nature! Better yet, continue that challenge by spending time in nature every day.
This could include during a hike, swim, or bike ride, but could also be as simple as getting outside and breathing deeply, closing your eyes, and relaxing your brain and body.
Ontario Parks notes that studies show that time spent in nature makes us happier, healthier, and less stressed and as little as 30 minutes a day can lower your blood pressure, increase self-esteem, reduce anxiety, and boost your mood.
Those who participate are encouraged to keep track of their journey on social media by sharing photos and stories with the hashtag #30x30Challenge.
