Fifteen years after it trashed single-use plastic bags, the LCBO is going to phase out paper bags at its retail stores beginning next month.
The alcohol retailer says it’s part of a new sustainability initiative. Locations will continue to provide eight-pack carrier cartons for free, or make reusable bags available to buy.
The LCBO says the move will save the equivalent of 188-thousand trees each year.
