He’s never ridden a motorcycle, however Brian Lynch understands the generosity of motorbike enthusiasts.
Lynch, a male breast cancer survivor along with his surgeon Dr. David Bottoni, have organized the inaugural Bottoni Ride for male breast cancer awareness.
Lynch explains proceeds from the ride will support the MRI fund at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
The ride is this Saturday, Aug. 19 with registration that morning at Rocky’s Harley-Davidson at 900 Wilton Grove Road in London.
Two years ago, Lynch created the Bottoni Project to help Canadian men understand that they have breasts too and are therefore at risk for this very rare form of cancer found in men.
This is their first fundraiser and Lynch explains the route starting at 10 a.m. from Rocky’s Harley-Davidson in London.
In addition to the ride this Saturday, there are activities afterward at Rocky’s Harley-Davidson, 900 Wilton Grove Road in London, explains Lynch.
With merchandise available to purchase including inaugural ride patches, stresses Lynch.
As a conservative estimate, Lynch would like see 100 ride participants next Saturday. No matter the number, he adds, it is the community that wins.
