A St. Thomas resident took a costly hit after being victimized in a social media scam.
They responded to an employment opportunity pop-up add on a major social media platform and submitted $100,000.
The incident took another turn with the applicant scammed out of an additional $100,000.
The St. Thomas Police Service criminal investigation branch is investigating the scam.
