Returning to Pinafore Park this Saturday for their 3rd annual event is the Railway City Music and Arts Festival. Known as the “Iron Horse Festival” for over 25 years, this ever evolving and free event looks to highlight the amazing local talent that spans across St. Thomas and Elgin County.
Because as Festival President Rick Nemett notes, you don’t have to visit a big city to see an amazing show.
And it’s going to be just that with a number of local acts including Trading Zero and BOBNOXIOUS set to take the stage! But with some issues attaining grants and the lack of a festival board up until the last few months, Nemett explains the need to shift to a one day event this year.
It’s still going to feature a number of fan favourites assures Nemett, with live music, a beer garden, car show and so much more.
With all the fun being packed into a single day, Nemett notes that the festival layout has also changed a bit.
As the festival board prepares for Saturday, Nemett adds that any last minute volunteers would be welcomed with opened arms.
Those interested in volunteering can sign up through the “Get Involved” tab on their website.
The Railway City Music and Arts Festival will run Saturday, August 19th from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the full music lineup available here.
You can also stay up to date on the Railway City Music and Arts Festival Facebook Page.
