Education Minister Stephen Lecce is facing criticism for suggesting that the province is considering legislation that might make it mandatory for schools to inform parents when their child opts to use different pronouns at school.
myFM spoke with Nina Irvine, a local parent who felt angry and hurt by the comments.
It’s understood that the parents aren’t always the safe space for these youth. They comment that if the parents are a safe space, they will aleady know.
Irvine recommends to others who are concerned by these comments to reach out to their local MPP.
Lecce said safety is the top priority for all children.
