Following an appearance at the Elgin County Courthouse on Tuesday, additional charges have been laid in the impaired driving incident that claimed the life of 11-year-old Aiden Curtis on July 4th.
As myFM first informed you back on that date, a red pickup truck was traveling westbound on Talbot Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway and struck five pedestrians on the sidewalk, killing a child and seriously injuring an adult female.
The driver, 19-year-old Nicholas Lemke was in court yesterday, where additional charges of Dangerous operation causing death, Impaired Operation causing bodily harm, and 2 counts Dangerous operation causing bodily harm were laid.
Lemke was processed on the additional charges and was released with a future court date.
