Great Lakes Farms is a family-owned fruit farm on Union Road, just north of Port Stanley where you can select a number of U-pick fruits.
During the spring and summer months, when they are in season, visitors can find an abundance of strawberries and peaches available for picking.
However, they are probably best known for their selection of apples, with well over a dozen varieties grown on site.
No one knows better than manager Laura Walters who gives us a taste of how big an operation it is.
The vast majority of apples end up in area grocery stores, Walters advises.
You can come and pick your favourite variety of apple and other fruits at Great Lakes Farms.
Or you can enjoy the fresh baked apple pies, muffins and crisps in the Apple Barn Cafe, overlooking the orchard.
And top it all off with a stop in the retail market to pick up unique local products, explains Walters.
Bring the kids and let them expand their imagination aboard the Giant Pirate Ship playset in the Fun Farm.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including digging and building in the sandbox, a zip line, a straw mountain, farm animals, pedal tractors and a challenging corn maze and a natural playground.
And now, you can really enjoy the taste of apples with their growing line of hard ciders, notes Walters.
The U-pick orchard is open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. seven days a week until Sunday, November 5.
Great Lakes Farms is also the perfect destination for school tours in the spring and fall.
