It’s small business week, a national celebration of Canadian entrepreneurs.
myFM and the Small Business Enterprise Centre have partnered once again this year to share the stories of our small business owners.
Today we salute Kaylee Zruna and Aveyron Bookshop.
It started as strictly an online bookstore but as Owner Kaylee Zruna notes, it has quickly grown into much more.
As Zruna mentioned, her work with the Elgin-St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre has allowed Aveyron Bookshop the opportunity to open up their first physical location in the Caboose at 65 Talbot Street.
But flashback to earlier this year, where Zruna’s journey into the small business world was just beginning.
For those unfamiliar with the Grow Accelerator program or the Caboose, SBEC assists small businesses looking to expand by providing a 3 to 6 month rent free space to local entrepreneurs as well as access to business coaches.
Zruna notes that while they will have to say goodbye to their physical location at the end of 2023, the opportunity to test the waters has been such a great experience.
She adds that the chance to see her business in a physical form has only made the want to grow even stronger.
Until another location can be secured for 2024, Aveyron Bookshop will continue to do what they do best from the comfort of their online shop.
Those who peruse through the online catalog will notice a number of different genres, with new titles being added frequently. Zruna says the hope is to provide something for everyone.
Adding that if there were a book you’d like to purchase but don’t see on their website, a special order could easily be made!
You can stay up to date with Aveyron Bookshop through their Facebook and Instagram pages, and be sure to visit aveyronbookshop.com for all your reading needs!
