The Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation is extending their hand to local residents as they seek out donors for their 100 People Who Care event.
They’re hoping for the participation of 100 or more compassionate individuals who are willing to commit $100 each, together raising a minimum $10,000 for a local charity.
That’s because as Executive Director Natasha Newby notes, they’re planning for bigger and better this year!
Last year they were able to provide 2 grants due to the generosity of the community, raising a total of $15,200, supporting both Harvest Outreach International and the Thames Valley Education Foundation.
Board Chair Scott Willoughby explains how your participation in the event extends far beyond a donation.
All contributors of 100 People Who Care will be invited to join the Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation on Tuesday, November 28th to learn about the incredible work being done by 4-6 local charities. You’ll have the chance to understand their programs, their impact on the community, and the pressing needs they’re addressing.
Following the presentation, donors will have the opportunity to cast their votes, deciding which charity should receive the funds raised.
Adding that all money raised through this event and through all of their funds, stay 100% local.
A reminder that charitable organization operating within St. Thomas and Elgin County still have time to apply to take part in 100 People Who Care, with the deadline being October 31st at midnight.
