The Downtown St. Thomas Tree Lighting Celebration returns next Friday and it’s going to be a magical night to remember!
For those who have not attended in the past, St. Thomas Downtown Development Board Chair Earl Taylor, explains this annual kick off to Christmas for the city.
During that time, kids will also have the opportunity to deliver their letters to Santa before the official Tree Lighting ceremony gets underway at 6 p.m.
New this year notes Taylor is their “Light Up Talbot” event to coincide with festivities. Not only is it a great way to keep the celebration going, it’s a perfect opportunity to explore the downtown.
But that’s not all says Taylor, as live music, pop-up vendors and more have been planned for the evening.
As is the case with most DDB events, a passport will be available to help you keep track of all the businesses you explore.
Visit at least 10 of the participating businesses and submit it before you leave for the night, for the chance win a $50 Downtown Dollars prize pack.
And speaking of Downtown Dollars, Taylor says they’ll be hosting their holiday sale once again this year and will be selling $100,000 worth of Downtown Dollars at a 15% discount beginning Monday, November 20th.
The St. Thomas Downtown Development Board will also be collecting non-perishable food donations during the tree lighting, which will then be delivered to Christmas Care.
