Port Stanley Dickens Days Weekend returns to village November 24th through 26th and you’re going to want to Experience This!
94.1 myFM has partnered with The Port Stanley BIA this week to highlight all that Dickens Days Weekend has to offer, and in doing so, we sat down with board member Ryan Featherstone.
For those not familiar with the annual event, Featherstone explains further.
It’s now a cherished local event but as Featherstone notes, the village of Port Stanley went a number of years without any sort of winter celebration.
As in years past, the fun kicks off on the Friday with the Dickens Day Night Parade hosted by the Port Stanley Lions and Lioness clubs. Featherstone says that’s just one of the draws the village has to offer over the weekend.
The Horse Drawn Carriage Rides will be running on both Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a number of other favourites also returning.
As they look to make Dickens Days Weekend a fun celebration for all members of the community, they’ve put on focus on the kids this year says Featherstone.
And be sure to pick up your passport before you begin your journey throughout the village he adds.
You are reminded that non-perishable food donations will be collected during the Dickens Day Night Parade and at Santa’s Workshop throughout the weekend in support of the Port Stanley Community Foodbank.
