The St. Thomas Stars are stepping off the ice and into the community this Sunday for their Annual Food & Toy Drive in support of Christmas Care.
Members of the Jr. B team will be set up at a number of locations across the city, collecting new and unwrapped toys as well as non-perishable food donations for those who need a little extra help this holiday season.
Stars players Kaedyn Long and Clark Sandham stopped by myFM to chat about this annual event.
That was Kaedyn Long, who is actually new to St. Thomas this year. He says he’s looking forward to getting out into the community and giving back to a city that has welcomed him with open arms.
He adds that not only is it for an amazing cause, it’s also a great opportunity for the team to connect off the ice.
Clark Sandham who is a Railway City native, echoed Long’s comments and noted it’s a chance to step back from the game of hockey for a little bit.
Sandham says that those hoping to give back can look for him and his teammates outside 6 different locations this Sunday.
The boys also gave a few examples of what they’re hoping to collect for Christmas Care.
The St. Thomas Stars will also be collecting donations during their next 2 home games- November 24th and December 3rd, which will be the final day of collection.
