The St. Thomas Fire Department and 94.1 myFM are teaming up once again this year to share the 12 Days of Holiday Fire & CO Safety Tips.
As the festive season approaches, our local fire department wants emphasized the importance of preventing common yet avoidable accidents around the holidays, while giving our listeners the chance to win a fun prize package in the process.
For those who listened to the 7 and 8:30 news this morning, you’ll already know Tip #9 is all about Cooking!
Holidays are stressful enough but when 17% of fires in Ontario are cooking-related, it’s important to remember to slow things down in the kitchen. Fires caused by cooking mostly happen when the stove is left unattended so be mindful when cooking and never leave the kitchen while using a stove.
Tip #10 will be shared Wednesday, and if you hear it- head over to StThomasToday.ca and submit the tip under the WIN tab for the chance at a 12 Days of Holiday Fire & CO Safety Tips prize package.
