The St. Thomas Fire Department and 94.1 myFM are teaming up once again this year to share the 12 Days of Holiday Fire & CO Safety Tips.
As the festive season approaches, our local fire department wants emphasized the importance of preventing common yet avoidable accidents around the holidays, while giving our listeners the chance to win a fun prize package in the process.
For those who listened to the 7 and 8:30 news this morning, you’ll already know Tip #10 centers around Heating Sources!
Baby, it’s cold outside! Staying warm this Winter Solstice means practicing fire safety. Space heaters, wood stoves and fireplaces are all great ideas until an accident happens. Keep at least one metre (3 feet) distance between your heat source and combustibles, like paper and fabrics.
Tip #11 will be shared Thursday, and if you hear it- head over to StThomasToday.ca and submit the tip under the WIN tab for the chance at a 12 Days of Holiday Fire & CO Safety Tips prize package.
