Many area residents travel across the border to visit family and friends over the holidays.
Because of that- myFM sat down with Craig Kennedy, Superintendent with Canadian Border Services Agency who talked about one of the key things to do before you head out.
Kennedy says one of the tough parts of their job, especially at this time of year is seeing of someone is telling the truth or not.
He says when asked questions at the border, always tell the truth.
The Superintendent has details on what you can bring home once you’ve stayed States-side overnight.
Kennedy added that if you are bringing presents over, leave them unwrapped in case you are pulled in for a random search. He suggests always having receipts handy to show how much you are bringing with you.
The Canadian Border Services Agency does have a complete list of tips to help make your crossing easier. Click here for more details.
