With 2023 coming to an end this weekend, here’s what’s open and what’s closed in St. Thomas and Elgin County on New Year’s Day.
Municipal Offices in the city and across the county will be closed on Monday but will resume regular operations Tuesday.
Railway City Transit will also be shutting down for New Year’s Day, following their free service being offered on New Year’s Eve.
All grocery stores such as Briwood Farm Market, The Real Canadian Superstore, Walmart, Metro, M&M Food Market, FreshCo, Foodbasics, and Foodland will be closed Monday.
Both the LCBO and Beer Store will close at 6 p.m. Sunday night and will remain closed New Year’s Day.
Lynhurst Esso and Variety will be open, including for the purchase of alcohol, from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. New Year’s Day.
Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on New Year’s Day in case any needs come up.
myFM will also be closed on New Year’s Day, returning to regular coverage and programming on Tuesday, January 2nd.
