Update from Elgin OPP as of 1 p.m. Jan. 4:
Police have identified the individual involved in the theft investigation from a business on Main St., in Port Stanley. The jewelry has since been paid for and the matter has been resolved without charges.
Elgin OPP are seeking the public’s help in a theft incident in Port Stanley dating back to last fall.
On Sept. 17 just before noon, an individual entered a Main Street business and stole jewelry worth about $150.
The investigation has been ongoing with the assistance of the Elgin-Middlesex Community Street Crime Unit.
The individual is described as:
· White female
· Approximately 70 years old
· White and blonde hair
· Wearing a jacket, black and white pants
· Spoke with a European accent
