The provincial government is boosting funding to its Local Priorities Fund, which is a stream that supports residents in long-term care homes with complex needs like dementia and bariatric care.
Minister of Long-Term Care Stan Cho said they’re tacking on $15 million into the fund for 2024, which brings it to a total of $35 million from its inception in 2022-23.
Cho also reaffirmed their government’s commitment to meeting the demand for long-term care.
Adding that last year’s $20 million LPF investment covered the costs of 173 projects.
The ministry will be working with Ontario Health to review all funding proposals and the successful applicants will be informed of a funding boost in the coming weeks.
