Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend and the Ontario Provincial Police want it to be a night of celebration – but not a night of poor choices.
That was Sgt. Ed Sanchuk.
Police are aware that this coming Sunday there will be a lot of people gathering for house parties or heading to a bar to watch the big game, but some of those individuals will leave those parties intoxicated and get behind the wheel.
On top of the risk of serious injury to you or someone else on the roadway, it is also important to note that for house parties, a homeowner could be held responsible if someone leaves their party intoxicated and gets into a collision.
Sanchuk concluded saying this is suppose to be a fun night enjoying football and all that comes with the Super Bowl – it doesn’t need to lead to tragedy.
If you suspect an impaired driver out on the roadway, you are always encouraged to contact the police immediately.
