Elgin OPP are investigating a break and enter at a Talbot Line residence in West Elgin.
Around 8 this morning (Friday) officers responded to the property after the owner discovered damage to a door of an outbuilding and while surveying the area, was confronted by an individual who then fled the area on foot.
A firearm reported missing by the homeowner has since been found.
No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
The individual is described as:
A white male, 20-years-old with a slim build and wearing jogging pants and a reflective construction jacket or vest.
The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of personal safety at all times. Anyone who may know the whereabouts of the individual or who may come in contact with the individual should not approach them. Instead, contact the police as soon as possible by calling 9-1-1.
