UPDATE AS OF 3:30 P.M. SATURDAY
St. Thomas police have identified a suspect in an ongoing stabbing investigation that began just after midnight Saturday morning.
54-year-old Jeff Church of St. Thomas is wanted by police for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
St. Thomas police are asking for anyone with information in regards to the whereabout of Jeff Church, contact police at 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers
There is no threat to public safety at this time but police are asking the public to not approach the suspect and to call police, immediately.

One person has been hospitalized with serious but non life-threatening injuries after being stabbed during an altercation early Saturday morning on Scott Street.
Just after midnight, St. Thomas police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a disturbance in the area of Scott and Hamilton streets, where an altercation had occurred involving two individuals known to each other.
Officers learned the victim had been driven to the hospital and was no longer in the area.
The victim was at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds.
The two streets were closed to traffic overnight while police investigated but they are open this morning.
Police are continuing with their investigation.
