Live music returns to Lord Elgin Branch 41 Royal Canadian Legion this Sunday, Feb. 25 with the most-awarded independent country music artist in Canadian history taking to the stage.
Dutton resident Jamie Warren is bringing his extensive catalogue of hits and stories to Legion branches across southwestern Ontario.
This radio-friendly performer has had hits with The Way Love Goes, What A Woman Wants To Hear, Just Not The Same, Take Me Home Mississippi, Sunny Day In The Park and Cried All The Way Home.
The Juno Award nominee singer-songwriter has a long association with the region.
He won the Youth Talent Search at London’s Western Fair, and was sent to Memphis, Tennessee to compete with other North American winners.
Remembered for his 1985 hit Take Me Home Mississippi, Warren – who now resides in Dutton – tells myFM about his current Legion tour.
Over his 40-year career, Warren has released 63 singles, many of them award-nominated hits.
He’s also known as a great songwriter and if you’ve ever seen him perform live, he is no slouch as a comedian.
He tells myFM listeners what to expect at the matinee performance.
Showtime is 2 p.m. Sunday with tickets available at the Legion, 24 Veteran Way in St. Thomas.
