A rear-end collision between a cube van and a horse-drawn vehicle has resulted in the death of the animal and injuries to the lone occupant of the buggy.
Elgin OPP attended the scene just after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Carter Road and Glen Colin Line in Malahide.
The driver was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the white U-Haul cube van fled the scene.
Police believe the vehicle likely will have damage to the front end.
Elgin OPP are asking the driver/owner of this vehicle to contact police as soon as possible.
