Canada Post has announced the recipients of the 2023 Indigenous Students Awards.
The awards celebrate the hard work and determination of those in pursuit of further education.
They were created in 2004 and up to 25 are handed out annually.
They are open to all Indigenous Canadian students who have resumed studies and completed at least one full year of study after being away from school for at least 12 months.
The recipients are awarded with $2,000 in recognition of their efforts.
Locally, Kristen Summers of Southwold was one of the recipients.
