When you play at Jackpot Time in St. Thomas, it is the community that wins.
Since the OLG partnership between Jackpot Time and the charities of the St. Thomas Gaming Association began in 2013, over $16 million has been distributed to organizations and not-for-profits across St. Thomas and Elgin county.
Sean Ross with the St. Thomas Gaming Association tells myFM how many charities they are dealing with this year.
Karen McDade with the St. Thomas Elgin Foodbank notes, “In 2023 our numbers spiraled . . . a significant increase and, of course, we would be struggling more to keep up with the demand if it wasn’t for the generosity of the charitable gaming program.”
Ross explains how service clubs are able to hold annual events like their Easter egg hunts.
This year about 90 area charities are benefitting from the partnership.
And Ross stresses there is room for even more charities to benefit from charitable gaming.
Ross adds, “We sincerely thank the management and staff at Jackpot Time and the dedicated team at the City of St. Thomas.
“Most importantly, we thank the people of Elgin county for supporting our gaming centre and our charitable groups.”
