A series of fires in the area of the CN Rail yard have prompted an investigation by St. Thomas Police.
Just after 9 p.m. Thursday, they were called to the area by CN employees because of a brush fire on the property.
Kim Destun, Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the St. Thomas Fire Department, told myFM they have been called out to the area several times over the past week, most notably to extinguish fires in a pile of railroad ties.
St. Thomas Police advised Saturday they will continue to respond to the area until the matter is resolved.
Anyone with information related to the recent fires in this area is asked to contact St. Thomas Police at 519-631-1224 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers
