With the Easter long weekend approaching, here’s what’s open and closed in St. Thomas and Elgin county.
All municipal buildings and offices in both St. Thomas and Elgin county are closed for the long weekend but will reopen beginning Tuesday (April 2).
All banks, as well as Walmart, the Real Canadian Superstore, Metro, Foodland, FreshCo, Food Basics and M&M Food Market will all be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday but will be open on Saturday and Easter Monday.
Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street will remain open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Sunday.
Briwood Farm Market will also remain open on Friday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
Lynhurst ESSO and Variety will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, including for the purchase of alcohol.
Elsewhere, the LCBO will be closed Friday, Sunday and Monday but will be open Saturday, with the Beer Store closed Friday and Sunday and open both Saturday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
For those hoping to get a head start on their gardens, Canadale Nurseries will be open all weekend. Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Family Flowers will be closed good Friday and Easter Sunday but will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Easter Monday.
You are also reminded of some Easter themed events taking place this weekend, including the Annual St. Thomas Kinsmen Easter Egg Hunt, the Downtown St. Thomas Easter Shop Hop, the Easter Egg Hunt in Union and the Easter Egg Hunt Train being hosted by Port Stanley Terminal Rail.
