An arrest has been made following an arson investigation by St. Thomas Police.
Twenty-seven year-old Brett Corkum was arrested following a series of fires in and around the CN Rail yard that began in late February.
Kim Destun, Chief Fire Prevention Officer with the St. Thomas Fire Department, told myFM they have been called out to the area several times in the past weeks, most notably to extinguish fires in a pile of railroad ties.
On Thursday, the St. Thomas Police Service K-9 unit located Corkum and he has been charged with three counts of arson. He will appear in court at a future date.
