A Township of Southwold councillor has been charged after a single vehicle collision early Thursday morning.
Just before 8 a.m. Elgin OPP responded to the area of Argyle and Lanark streets in Fingal where overnight, a vehicle left the road and ended up in a creek.
The motorist left the scene and returned in the morning and spoke with an OPP officer who suspected she was intoxicated.
She failed a roadside test and a second test at the OPP detachment.
Forty-five year-old Sarah Emons has been charged with impaired driving and her licence suspended for 90 days.
Her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
She will appear in St. Thomas court on April 30.
