Be sure to mark your calendars hockey fans as a big day is being planned in August!
After hitting pause on the planned ceremony in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic back in 2020, West Lorne’s Arena Renaming Ceremony has been officially rescheduled for August 24th.
That’s when we’ll see the moniker change to the “Bo Horvat Community Centre” in honour of the local hockey star.
The Rodney native and current New York Islander grew up playing on a number of local teams before making his way to the NHL, including the West Lorne Comets, Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs, the London Knights, as well as a brief stint with the St. Thomas Stars.
The renaming celebration will be taking place at Miller Park in West Lorne on August 24th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The day will feature interactive displays, inflatables, entertainment, food vendors and of course the official renaming ceremony.
