The president of an advocacy group says the cost of gas at Ontario pumps will increase to a level the province has not seen in nearly two years.
Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, had predicted a 14-cent-per-litre increase overnight.
The average price in St. Thomas this morning is in the $1.75 per litre range, a cost for gas last seen at the pumps in August, 2022.
McTeague says the increase is due to the higher cost of summer blended gasoline.
The increase also follows the Federal Carbon Tax hike which has already added another 3 cents per litre on local pumps.
