A single vehicle collision overnight Thursday has resulted in the closure of a portion of Wellington Street.
St. Thomas Police are asking the community to avoid the areas of Ross Street and Wellington Street after a hydro pole was struck causing significant damage and a power outage to the surrounding areas. The lone occupant in the crash was uninjured.
Wellington Street will remain closed from Princess Avenue to Ross Street while police investigate and hydro crews begin repairs. You are reminded to use caution on your morning commute and treat all traffic lights that are out as 4-way stops.
The closure is expected to last until the noon hour.
