Spring leaf and yard waste collection begins today in St. Thomas
As of this morning on your regular scheduled garbage day, residents will be able to leave organic material in paper bags or bundles on the curb to be collected.
This will continue each week until May 31st.
The city does encourage residents to mulch their leaves first and add them to their lawn or garden and then bag leftover or excess leaves for collection.
Acceptable Material includes:
Grass, leaves, weeds, plants and brush (no longer than 3 feet and no thicker than 2 inches in diameter)
Acceptable Set outs include:
• Material set out in paper yard waste bags weighing no more than 45lbs
• Bundles of brush weighing no more than 45lbs and no longer than 3 feet.
