The Municipality of Central Elgin has announced its 2024 Budget with the Tax Rate set at a zero percent increase.
The total annual expenditures are expected to be approximately $35,319,336, with major capital projects for Central Elgin valued at roughly $15,773,728.
The capital work will include the West Port Stanley Stormwater Management Project and the undertaking of a Harbour Asset Management Plan. This will be in addition to roads and parks enhancements across the Municipality.
“I am proud that this Council continues to deliver on our commitment to balancing affordability with responsible and effective service delivery,” said Mayor Andrew Sloan. “I look forward to seeing all the ways that this Budget contributes to making our community a great place to live and invest in the year to come.”
Residents should note that while the tax rate has been set to zero percent, they may still see property tax impacts through the 2024 Elgin County Budget and education rates established by the Province.
