A St. Thomas man is facing numerous charges following an active police investigation Wednesday in Oxford County.
Around 5 p.m. Oxford OPP attended a residence on Plank Line where 37-year-old Dennis Churchill was arrested and charged with a variety of outstanding and new offences including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Some of those outstanding charges are related to incidents in St. Thomas.
The accused was remanded into custody awaiting a bail hearing.
In 2021, Churchill and Jennifer Curtis of St. Thomas were charged with weapon and drug-related offences, including eight counts of trafficking and five counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
Churchill faces the following outstanding and new offences:
· Flight from peace officer
· Dangerous operation
· Fail to stop for police
· Driving while under suspension
· Possession of Stolen Property Obtained by Crime
· Possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose
· Five counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
· Fail to comply with probation order
· Unauthorized possession of prohibited or restricted firearm
