More than three months after her death, Elgin OPP have confirmed 38-year-old Tanya Wiebe was the victim of a murder-suicide.
Just after 8 a.m. on Jan. 31, emergency personnel responded to a Roberts Line residence after the discovery of two deceased individuals.
They have been identified as Malahide resident Tanya Wiebe and 34-year-old Kyle Savage of Central Elgin.
Post-mortem examinations confirmed gunshot wounds as the cause of death for both individuals Wiebe’s death ruled as a homicide.
The Elgin OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, with assistance from OPP West Region Criminal Operations and OPP Forensic Identification Services, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
