After a successful trial run last year, the Dutton Farmers Market opens this Sunday for a full season.
Market director Kaitlyn Stoddart stresses the weekly market is so much more than a place to buy delicious, local food.
You get great food and you gain a community.
This year, the market will run every Sunday through to Oct. 6.
And there is a unique new wrinkle this year as Stoddart explains the Pay It Forward campaign.
And the market will kick this initiative off by purchasing one voucher at every vendor booth that participates in the campaign.
She lists what the participating vendors are contributing to the campaign.
Stoddart says it is an amazing way to give back to your neighbours and the campaign builds on the trial run of the market last summer.
She notes activities for the kids will again be a feature of the market this season.
The market operates from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. beginning this Sunday in Sons of Scotland Park.
There will be live music featuring Jukebox Jenny.
Each market day will have a special event. This may include kids activities, cooking demonstrations, tractor attractions and more.
