The Grand Opening of Deer Ridge Conservation Area that was scheduled to take place on Thursday has been cancelled due to the significant rain fall we’ve been experiencing locally.
A new date for the Grand Opening Celebration will be scheduled for late summer 2024.
The Kettle Creek Conservation Authority does say that in the meantime, users are still welcome to explore the 1.7km natural surface hiking trail at 147 Glengariif Drive in Talbotville.
But with wet and muddy conditions currently impacting the trail, you are asked to delay your visit until ground conditions improve.
Deer Ridge Conservation Area is a 46-acre forested property generously donated by Ted and Duggie Gill back in 2022.
A permit is not required to access the trail system for hiking, bird watching and quiet enjoyment from dawn to dusk May 1st to November 30th.
