It’s a story about setting goals and doing your very best to reach them.
“The Tails of Trax,” a new children’s book written by St. Thomas Police Constable Sean James and illustrated by Constable Helaine Hindley is out now- leaving readers of all ages with a sense of courage, loyalty and perseverance after the final page.
It’s the first book for this hard working pair, who stopped by the myFM studio to chat about the process.
Without giving too much away, Constable James breaks down the plot.
It looks to honour an important member of the service notes James, while also giving readers an inside look at the life of a police dog.
And while putting pen to paper wasn’t an issue for James, the illustration side of things wasn’t his forte.
That’s where Constable Hindley came in.
It’s available now on Amazon, with 100% of proceeds supporting a very worthwhile cause notes James.
Hindley says that the support thus far has been incredible, as they aim to raise enough funds to provide someone in need with this vital service.
As they look to get the story of “Trax” out there- Samantha Wakefield, Corporate Communications Coordinator with the St. Thomas Police Service invites the community to experience the tale live this Saturday.
Adding that some specials guests will be joining them.
During the event Saturday, the St. Thomas Public Library will also be officially adding the book to its collection.
The reading and book signing will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with copies of “The Tails of Trax” available for purchase on site.
The pair also shared details on their plans for book 2- so the story of Trax will continue!
