On stage now at Port Stanley Festival Theatre is “Funny Valentine: A Michael Bublé Tribute” starring Jay Davis and his 4-piece combo.
It bring to life the music of one of the finest Canadian crooners of our time and delivers an uplifting and powerful universal theme of hope, love and togetherness delivered with sincerity and humour.
Davis made his Port Stanley Festival Theatre debut when the show opened back on June 4th, and myFM had the opportunity to sit down with him to learn more about the production.
He first explains where the idea for a “one man show” came about.
Davis notes that a lot of work has gone into the show over the past few years, but it wasn’t always what you see today.
Adding that it’s only gotten bigger and better with a little help from some friends.
This includes Neil Henry on guitar, Gord Mowat on bass, Matt Newton on Piano, and Tim Shia the percussion expert.
But as far as why he landed on Michael Bublé as his tribute act, Davis had this to say.
And while it is a large focus of the show, it’s not just about the music- it’s about the experience!
Whether you’re a die-hard Bublé fan or simply love good music, PSFT stresses this is an experience you won’t want to miss.
“Funny Valentine: A Michael Bublé Tribute” is running through 15th with evening and matinee shows available at PSFT.ca.
