It’s the perfect concept – bring the community together for 2 days of live music, food and fun, while simultaneously supporting a vital local project.
Summerfest returns to St. Thomas on June 21st and 22nd, once again backing Hospice of Elgin and the ongoing fundraising campaign.
There have been different variations of this beloved event as well as a number of host locations over the years. And even though they’re continuing with the 2-day concept adopted in 2023, Chair Gerry Holden notes they’re returning to where it all started!
It kicks off this Friday with a Fish Fry and live musical performances by local artists from 4 to 6 p.m.- an evening you’re not going to want to miss notes Holden.
Something new this year shared Holden is the addition of a vendor market throughout the night Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
As far as what you can expect on the main stage Saturday, he had this to say.
They’ll play from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by the three headlining acts beginning at 8.
This includes “Jersey Seasons” a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, “American Graffiti” featuring Frankie and the Flash Backs celebrating rock and roll from the 50’s- 70’s, and closing with “Beach Party Boys” a tribute to the Beach Boys.
Holden adds that food and refreshments will be available on site to help keep to fun going well into the evening.
And the best part as Holden explains, is that all money raised through Summerfest will go directly to Hospice of Elgin.
Last year Summerfest was able to raise $5000 thanks to the support of the community.
Those hoping to support the cause and take in the shows can purchase their tickets in advance at the Columbus Club- 265 Wellington Street or at Elford Automotive- 9 Anderson Ave.
Tickets to the Fish Fry are $25 and Saturday Summerfest Concert Tickets will be $35 in advance or $40 at the door.
